The Muppets also inspired me when I was a kid. But not in the way they inspired you. I hated the Muppets. Hated. Them. I don't know why. I think I had a bad experience at a sleepover party (kids be a-holes type stuff) or something, and the Muppets were playing on TV, and no one could shut up about them while being mean to 9-year-old me.
And everyone around me, everyone! loved them. So I remember thinking: "That's it. I'm gonna write comedy. I'll show everyone what real humor is. Jerks!"
But I've grown to see the value of the Muppets as I've aged. Still don't like Snuffleupagus though. Don't get me started...
