I refuse to subject my nervous system to extreme cruelty and schadenfreude, no matter how brilliant the film. Life is too short for a rewatch of Pan's Labyrinth, A Clockwork Orange, or Kill Bill. (Weirdly, Pulp Fiction gets a pass with it's 'honor amongst murderers' theme).
That said, the generational toxic masculinity of "Magnolia" is well offset by Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance, and Aimee Mann's iconic song, "Wise Up" grabs the heart and squeezes.
I'm watching the podcast video though I won't be able to watch the whole thing now. Cute banter...waiting to hear about the films. 🎬

Dune is on the spite list of films. I don’t even know why. In my mind I hate sci fi but that’s just not categorically true either.
